I am Arjun K Haridas, a Robotics Engineer with 2+ years of industry experience in ROS-based perception and simulation.

  • Presented an open-source Gazebo plugin at the Gazebo Community Meeting 2026
  • Deployed AMRs achieving sub ±10mm docking repeatability across live manufacturing facilities in India, Europe, and the US
  • Built and owned simulation stacks for multiple robotic products across multiple startups, spanning robotic manipulators, AMRs, and pallet-mover robots used daily by firmware and dashboard teams as their primary validation environment without needing access to physical hardware
  • Led the perception stack and delivered MVPs from scratch for two flagship products at early-stage startups



I’m now headed to Germany to pursue a Master’s in Industrial Informatics at Hochschule Emden/Leer, starting September 2026.

EXPERIENCE

  • Robotics Engineer

    Peer Robotics
    (Feb 2025 - Jun 2026)

    Developed a novel trolley detection algorithm enabling autonomous docking on a differential drive robot, achieving sub ±10mm repeatability. Built and own the full simulation stack for Peer3000, the company’s flagship autonomous pallet-movement robot, developing custom Gazebo plugins simulating hardware behaviors including pallet lifting, trolley grasping, and autonomous charging.

  • Robotics Software Engineer (Promoted from AI & Perception Intern)

    Orangewood Labs
    (Feb 2024 - Feb 2025)

    Led the perception stack for AutoSpray and AutoSanding from scratch, two flagship projects automating industrial spray painting and sanding of 2D surfaces using a 6-DOF robotic manipulator. Implemented algorithms like RANSAC and ICP using PCL for 3D point cloud processing, and developed simulation stacks for both projects using ROS and Gazebo.

  • Robotics Software Intern

    Black Coffee Robotics
    (June 2023 - Dec 2023)

    Developed Gazebo-Architect, a custom Ignition Gazebo GUI plugin that generates spatially accurate indoor simulation environments from natural language descriptions using LLMs as backend. Also developed a high fidelity warehouse simulation environment using Unity for training a custom VSLAM algorithm.

  • Data Science Intern

    (Sept 2022 - May 2023)

    I worked with the Computer Vision team at Scaler to produce the highest quality content in Data Science and Machine Learning. My work involved developing cool end-to-end real-world projects using State-Of-The-Art algorithms and architectures like YOLO and EfficientNet

  • Robotics Summer Intern

    IITD-AIA Foundation for Smart Manufacturing
    (June 2022 - August 2022)

    My project involved integrating Computer Vision with ROS for performing pick-and-place operations on custom 3-D printed objects using a Cobot(Omron TM5-700). I developed a YOLOv5 based model for custom object-detection and used ROS-Moveit! for controlling the manipulator.
